Russian scientists managed to simulate a virtual person on a supercomputer

In the laboratory of Nizhny Novgorod State University

Immediately it is worth noting that before the scientists of the Nizhny Novgorod State University. Lobachevsky had a difficult task to model a virtual human clone. At their disposal was given a supercomputer included in the world’s hundred most powerful computers – “Lobachevsky”, through which were processed tens of millions of parameters of the human body.

According to Viktor Gergel, head of the Institute of Information Technologies at the University, scientists created a virtual model of the organism in minute detail. It is enough to note that the virtual heart alone contains over 50 million different parameters.

Supercomputer Lobachevsky

The work of Nizhny Novgorod scientists is of unique importance, since it became possible to create a computer model for almost any person and without hurting him to model various treatment options. Naturally, this is possible only with the help of supercomputers like Lobachevsky, whose performance reaches 600 teraflops.

To understand the value of this characteristic, recall – 1 teraflop corresponds to a trillion operations per second.
